I have decided to place this product under boycott and include it with the boycott of Pharmacy Chains Eckerd, CVS, Walgreens and Walmart.

Call Glaxo Smith Kline and tell someone in the public relations department that you will no longer buy Tums until their CEO gets congress to


1 to repeal Medicare Part D

2 repeal the means test for Medicare Part B

3 to enact a prescription drug benefit in Medicare Part B covering 80 percent of all medications
with no extra monthly premium, no extra annual deductible, no means test, no coverage gap,
and no late sign up penalties.

and that this bill passes the Senate and House and gets signed by the President.

Like any pharmaceutical company, it's had its share of controversy, earned and unearned. But is there some connection between GSK and the Congressional initiatives you want their CEO to work on?

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention, I haven't used Tums in four years. Occupational improvement, not boycott. :)

and what've they done about the Earned Income Tax Credit? Huh?! HUH!?

First GlaxoSmithKline sells other drugs than Tums. Tums is really cheap, and they probably make a whole lot more money from the prescription drug bill than they ever did off of Tums.

Second, you are holding them accountable over something they don't have directly control over. They can influence the government, but they can't control everything that goes on it Congress and the president.

You are better off writing to your congressman than actually boycotting Tums. Congress is the one who needs to be held accountable. It's just absurd expecting that an industry should voluntarily regulate itself.

and it did nothing to stop the impeachment of Clinton, the war in Iraq, the junk prescription drug law.

Boycott Republican contributors and make demands of them.
