FIU student's ACORN video inspires fans
http://www.miamiherald.com/news/miami-dade/story/1239098.htmlConservative commentators have embraced an FIU
journalism student who participated in ACORN videos.
Hannah Giles' five-year goal -- as declared on an FIU student homepage: ``Rocking life.''
At the moment, she's rocking the world of right-wing media, where the Florida International University sophomore is being called a hero, an inspiration and a patriot.
Her deed: posing as a prostitute in an undercover video that captured workers for the community-organizing group ACORN advising her and a pimped-out friend how to cheat on taxes and loan applications. She's a public-relations major, seeking a ``certificate in Law, Ethics, & Society.''
Since the video became a YouTube sensation last week, ACORN has lost some of its federal funding, delighting Fox News pundits like Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck, who have hosted the Aventura 20-year-old on their shows.
She told Beck that ACORN was ``a thug organization getting my tax dollars,'' and that she wants to be a journalist.
