How they're all pissed cause the USA considers them a military threat... China told the USA to drop its "cold war mentality."

However, just down the street from my apartment in Beijing last night I was watching truckloads of missiles and warheads being paraded by on trucks in preparation for their big parade in October. So you guys should tell China to shut the fuck up. Like the US isn't gonna consider a country doing that a threat.

1. Zzzz...every year...and this year is the 60th anniversary fo the PRC
China only holds a military parade once per decade. I'm not losing any sleep over it.

2. It's just the point that they piss and moan the way they do
Living here I've discovered good and bad about china. I've discovered the west is fed lots of bullshit about the place. But one thing is certain, this country is a fucking petulant child.

10. Valid concern, the government is a corporation, not a representation of the people
The thing is too many outside the country (and inside) don't realize the people and the government are two different things.

5. I thought they've always been a threat.
I know we borrow money from them and buy our stuff from them, but that doesn't make them friends.

Is what this country is. It's not a country so much as a land mass that was taken over by a ruling party. That party owns a stake in everything and collect money from everyone. The people can't vote for them, and are basically used as cheap labour because they have no other choice but to risk life and limb in some factory or die. There's no free healthcare here, no welfare system. Sound communist to you? HELL NO. It's a bunch of basically CEOs at the top manipulating the people for their own benefit. And if you object you get "fired."

Frankly, any fortune 500 company would KILL to be in this position. They're all a bunch of sociopaths.

14. No sweat... if you can access it, it isn't illegal, right?
Plus, they don't give a fuck what some white guy is reading. They know I already know all about their BS. They're concerned with what chinese people are reading. And to get on blocked sites I use a proxy. I can access anything. And basically if you're not posting shit that is advocating violent rebellion you're okay.

15. That was my first business trip at work..
I was all paranoid about the internet. I had some irrational fear of being locked up or deported or generally embarrassing myself or my company. I loved taipei though.

19. Well the chuar stands where all over the place
But the other night the fuzz came an just took all their chuar machines. Anything that isn't officially licensed is being shut down for the anniversary. It was awful, the pulled up and just grabbed everything these people own and threw them into the van. People were running with their food carts trying to save their equipment. I was in the pub downstairs and when this all happened, the owner, a guy fro, Denver blasted "Fuck the police" on his stereo. It was the only solace we could get.
