This was Really Depressing..
The Dem Mayor of my small town brought me 15 of her yard signs today to distribute amongst the voters in my ward. (This is a small town, but shes a wonderful mayor and very progressive and a good friend.)

The guy running against her is a repub, and hes a creep. anyway

I drove around my district, and passed out a few signs.

Some of the constituents in my Ward:

"who is Mayor ****?"

"Why should I vote for her? Who is running against her?" (His signs are already up)

"Theres an election?"

"I live here but I dont vote"

"Tell me about both of them and than I will decide" (as if what I say should make a decision for them!)

"NO I DONT PUT SIGNS IN MY YARD IT LOOKS UGLY'

anyway, I discovered, to my amazement, that a lot of people dont give a shit, dont care, and dont do any research as to who they vote for.

1. But they'll bitch
if something affects them personally.

They don't realize that it ALL affects them personally.

How depressing, indeed........................

6. oh yes I did!
I told them that the repub running was the head of the Utility commission, was responsible for the poor planning for the new water plant, which resulted in the 29 percent increase in our water/sewer rates, and was also a realtor who had shady deals going on regarding an environmentally hot issue with a beautiful wildlife area he wants to develop and rake in some cash...

I hope they listened.

7. Great! I'd rather meet a bunch of uninformed undecideds than a bunch of
ignorant rethugs.
