Vitter too embarrassed to show up for Acorn Vote?
Edited on Sat Sep-19-09 01:49 AM by sabrina 1
You would think that David Vitter would have made it a priority to be in DC to vote on the politically-motivated bill stripping Acorn of funding. After all, over the past week, Vitter has been boasting on his website that 'he has been the most outspoken critic of Acorn':

http://vitter.senate.gov/public/index.cfm?FuseAction=PressRoom.PressReleases&ContentRecord_id=b9349c08-9d81-ece1-a9bf-d80427ef4447&Region_id=&Issue_id=

Vitter has been the Senate’s most outspoken critic of ACORN and has offered multiple amendments to bar them from receiving federal funding – including his amendment to the National Service Bill earlier this year that would have also blocked them from receiving funding. He also blocked the nomination of Census Director Robert Groves in the hopes of receiving written assurances from the White House that ACORN would not collaborate with the U.S. Census Department.

But, the moment came and went, and it went without Vitter casting a vote.

What could possibly have prevented someone who worked so hard to bring this 'victory' about from showing up to vote on this bill? Because he hasn't changed his mind, as you can see from this article:

http://www.lademo.org/ht/display/ReleaseDetails/i/1275073/pid/329479

it has been reported that Vitter has joined other Republicans calling for an investigation into whether ACORN employees "advised people posing as a pimp and prostitute how to skirt federal tax laws."

Omg! VITTER, is calling for an investigation into whether or not someone might have been ADVISING a 'pimp and prostitute'! The hypocrisy is so far off the charts, it's hard to find words!

But hypocrisy aside, where are the Democrats on David Vitter calling for an investigation of anyone, a man who supported the Sex Business personally, breaking the law and then lied about it over and over again while running for office. His lies depriving voters of information that might have influenced their choices. Isn't he still receiving a salary paid for by the taxpayers? What happened to THAT investigation?

Well, all but 75 of them, in one of those 'bi-partisan' efforts, (which means, 'Republicans call the shots, Democratics say 'Me Too') were right there supporting David Vitter's efforts to stop the work of helping the poor and dis-enfranchized which ACORN has done for so long. Vitter didn't even have to show up. Thank you once again, Democrats!!

But at least ONE Democrat had something to say about Vitter's failure to show up. Louisiana Democratic Party Spokesman Kevin Franck in a press release had this to say:

http://www.lademo.org/ht/display/ReleaseDetails/i/1275073/pid/329479

Vitter may have skipped the vote to avoid calling attention to his own admission that he frequented prostitutes, according to Franck.

"Tax evasion and prostitution are serious crimes that should be investigated and it would be very surprising if David Vitter and the services he has paid for did not violate tax laws," Franck added.

'Crimes that should be investigated'. And this is what happens when they are not. The corrupt and the hypocrites go unpunished and nothing changes because for them, there are no consequences.

These witch-hunts won't stop until Democrats stop thinking that they will gain something politically from going along with them. Maybe they ought to try doing what is right for a change, or they are going to be back in the minority in a little over a year.

Amazing what the minority party is able to accomplish, while the majority is still making excuses for why they cannot pass a decent Healthcare Bill.

2. I can see that video now.
"Well, I'm a prostitute and I need to get some help with my taxes. You see, I specialize in some pretty weird stuff, and the thing that worries me is that some of my clients are very prominent people, you know, and I don't want to get audited. Also, if I could write off all the adult diapers I have to buy, that'd help me a lot."

"Sure. Just list your profession as 'performance artist.' And maybe 'daycare.'"

3. Lol, but that's why there should have been an investigation
Like the one Vitter is calling for. We don't know if Vitter's prostitute asked him for advice on how to avoid getting into trouble over taxes. He lied and lied about the whole affair for so long, even when his Repub. opponent asked about it in the primaries.

It's just outrageous that this is what is in charge of this country. Like Foley, who also got away with his sexual exploits with young boys because it was not investigated, there were no consequences, and now he's back too, on the radio adding to the poisonous atmosphere that desperately needs less, not more of these hypocrites. They all found God, but only after they were caught.

9. Because Republicon Vitter is into diaper sex with hookers
he was afraid his appearance would cause a smear on his, um, record.

10. Well, I guess even he, hypocrite that he is
realized that calling for an investigation that has anything to do with 'prostitutes' might remind people of his own law-breaking, for which this same Senate saw no reason to investigate. He's a liar, a hypocrite and a law-breaker, and he's among the leaders of the charge against Acorn. Right there is reason enough to demand further investigation of what exactly WAS on those tapes before they were edited.
