Tim Pawlenty Reads Out Phone Sex Hotline Number On Radio Show
Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty made a slip of the tongue Friday morning on his weekly radio show, giving out a phone number that encourages people to call "for a good time" rather than the number for people to call in to talk to him on his program.

Pawlenty hosts a weekly radio show, "Good Morning Minnesota" on WCCO Radio.

During the program, Pawlenty was giving out phone numbers viewers could call into, when he prefixed the call-in line with 1-800, instead of the prefix for WCCO Radio's call-in number, 1-866.

The 1-800 number Pawlenty inadvertently advertised features a voice-recording which instructs people who want to "call and talk to fun people" to call a second number. The second number is a phone sex chat line.

WCCO Radio declined to comment on the slip. The governor's office released the following comment: "It was a simple mistake, and he corrected himself later."

They can't handle the intertubes, and their dysfunction now appears to have spread to all types of media.

Pawlenty probably did a pubic, oops I mean public, service for some constituents.

1. I'm starting to think Pawlenty will be the Repub nominee by default
The Republicans are too pragmatic to nominate someone like Palin or Huckabee. Romney is possible, but he has his own public health care plan in Massachussets that will turn Republican voters off. Jindal's star has fallen lately, and I don't see anyone other than Pawlenty out there.

8. People will be fooled to think he is the "normal" candidate.

10. I agree,
though it amazes me. He seems to be little more than a vindictive opportunist underneath his "everyman" persona. Having said that, I would love to watch "T-paw" in a debate with President Obama, as it would be a big box of schadenfreude to see the smirk wiped off his face.

2. If Obama had made the same kind of slip...
...we'd get a week or two of right wing teabagger howling about the President's secret plan to undermine the morals of the country and turn the nation's children into his personal army of sex slaves. Or something like that.

4. Maybe that's why they are so vehemently against the Public option.
The Rethugs have convinced their followers it really is "Pubic." Lord knows they don't want one word about sex to be

mentioned anywhere. They just have to wait for the headlines about their representatives when they are in a scandal.

5. Well, then we have nothing to worry about,
because they will be sneaking out to the ballot box in raincoats to secretly support it.

You just might need to be sure to wipe off the lever before you vote.

9. Doubtful He Even Knew What He Did...
From one who sat behind the mike, when the red light goes on, you never know what will come out of someone's mouth. Damn right he had the phone number sitting right in front of him. Almost every talk station I've been associated with has the number tatooed all over the studio as well as promotional announcements.

I'm giving Palwenty a pass on here...how many of us confuse 800 with 866 or 888...I have an 800 line here and if I had a dime for people who misdialed I'd be a wealthy man (instead I have to pay for them...cost of doing business).

There's plenty of other stuff to go after him...such as being a pandering douchenozzle.
