FIU student's ACORN video inspires fansHannah Giles
This girl is a sophomore at Florida International University in Miami, whose stated goal is "Rocking life"; she's the home-schooled daughter of a preacher named Rev. Leslie D. "Doug" Giles.
Here's a bit about this conservative preacher man:
Provocatively-clad hooker might seem like a shocking role for a preacher's daughter, but Doug Giles, 46, is hardly a conventional preacher.
Pictured in hip sunglasses and a GQ haircut, he hosts ClashChurch.com, where he sneers at insufficiently masculine Christian ``wussies,'' and exhorts the faithful to dress well and ``put on a little cologne.''
Decrying gays and pornography, the Texas Tech graduate once told a Christian publication that ``the church has to get up off its wrinkly glutes and preach the truth about God's Word. If we don't, it'll only be another 10 years before America is Amsterdam.''
The church's website offers audio and video clips, an Internet broadcast, and books such as How to Keep Jackasses Away From Daddy's Girl ($6).
Giles writes for the conservative website Townhall.com. His columns tear into liberals, feminists, President Barack Obama, in broadsides like ``Hey A**holes, Obama Wants to Talk to Your Kids.''
Nice for a "preacher", no?
The nut doesn't fall far from the tree, either:
At the moment, she's rocking the world of right-wing media, where the Florida International University sophomore is being called a hero, an inspiration and a patriot. ..... Since the video became a YouTube sensation last week, ACORN has lost some of its federal funding, delighting Fox News pundits like Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck, who have hosted the Aventura 20-year-old on their shows.
She told Beck that ACORN was ``a thug organization getting my tax dollars,'' and that she wants to be a journalist.

``I drained my savings'' to do it, she added.
Giles and friend James O'Keefe visited ACORN offices in several cities, pretending to seek help in setting up a brothel using underage foreign girls. ACORN representatives in Baltimore and Washington, D.C., have been fired for giving it to them.
Giles now has more than 400 ``fans'' on her Facebook page, who call her courageous, brave and a ``true American.''
``You have given so many Americans real `hope,' '' wrote a fan named Anthony Vitale. ``Your parents must be so proud!''

Hannah, whose hobbies are surfing, jiu-jitsu, and ``truth,'' according to her FIU homepage, debuted June 29 on Townhall.com with a column headlined, ``I've heard of a flat tax, but a flatulence tax?''
In it, she attacks the Obama administration's ``latest scheme, the American Clean Energy and Security Act, which imposes a tax on farts'' -- a reference to provisions covering greenhouse gases such as methane, which bovines emit.
Before resuming her studies at FIU this fall, Hannah Giles -- who was home-schooled, according to a 2006 New Times story about her father -- had a paid summer internship in Washington at the Young America's Foundation's National Journalism Center. The foundation calls itself ``the principal outreach organization of the Conservative Movement.''
Vice President Kate Obenshain said Giles attended one of the foundation's conferences in 2007, and ``recently did a seminar at the Reagan Ranch Center,'' described as ``a schoolhouse for Reaganism.''
Obenshain said no one at the foundation knew that Giles was involved with the video until after it aired. ``She came up with it on her own,'' said Obenshain. ``We're really proud of her to take what she learned here'' and use it in the project.

The right-wing crusade against ACORN is a far bigger fraud than any misdeeds a few employees might have committed, Salon, September 18, 2009
ACORN is a target of right-wing fanaticism because it is an organization that provides assistance to those with moderate to low income. Although ACORN
provides assistance with such things as affordable housing, neighborhood safety, health care, tax assistance, better public schools, better wages, and better investments in local communities, ACORN is the target of vicious right-wing attacks because it ((((*****GASP*****))))
assists in voter registration in these communities.
Voter registration in poor and minority communities unleashes fanatical right-wing fire-breathing hatred. And the right wing will do ANYTHING to destroy ACORN, even if it means turning preacher's daughters into virtual (or otherwise) prostitutes.
``I drained my savings'' to do it, she added.
Was pimping for your daddy worth it, Hannah, in the eyes of your god?
