If we had no public education and the current controversy was about creating public schools, what would the vast majority of tea baggers who can't afford private schools be saying right now? I know that Grover Norquist and his ilk want to kill public education but the idea has never really gained traction because, just like the rest of us, rank-and-file pukes depend on public education for their children.

And, lest the premise become an opening for them to decry the state American education, may I suggest that, if they don't like it, they should remove their children post haste. Because, for all of the home schoolers out there, I can tell you that our public schools are positively overflowing with children from freeper homes.

Those parents will take their right to a public education for their children, thank you very much, but they're too stupid to figure out that the guarantee of basic health protection is more important than the right to an education.

2. If the dabate were about education rather than health insurance ...
... republicans would be asking for vouchers to pay for private schools for their children rather than the establishment of public schools.

Actually many of them are looking to start voucher programs already.

4. And do they think about where the vouchers come from?
Neocons believe that tax revenue and federal policy should support American corporations. Progressives believe that tax revenue and federal policy should support American citizens.

5. Well, certainly their leaders believe that but do the rank-and-filers?
Even freepers understand the value of education. How many of them have attended college on their GI Bill money?
