Is the right embracing Imus simply because he was a racist bigot?
Edited on Sun Apr-15-07 01:37 PM by gatorboy
Over the past few days I've heard the argument, "you got rid of one of ours, it's only fair to fire one of your own"(Meaning a right winger was fired, now fire one of your lefties. And though I'd never consider Imus a liberal, he wasn't completely a conservative either. He despised Bush. Yet because he made a racist remark, Republicans are automatically siding with the man as if to prove that bigotry and intolerance is a trait of the right.

2. The Right is racist and bigoted.
To a larger extent than the Left. Also more intolerant, fascist, disloyal, lowdown, good fer nothing, larcenous, perverted worms! Well, to a larger extent.

7. Mike Huckabee for one.
He stated that if Imus goes, so too should Rosie and/or Maher.

5. I completely agree.
I'd say a solid portion, if not a majority of Republicans are racist.

6. No, I think it's because 'we' did it.
It doesn't matter what the issue is, they just have to be in opposition to whatever we do.
Just like a 3yr. old when they are already mad at you. Revenge in it's most base form.

Of course the 'bigot' thing factors in. They have no compulsions against defending such comments.

12. I've always considered Imus to be a potty-mouthed Centrist/Moderate GOPer
He is in the center where his good friend Joe Lieberman hangs out. The anger on the right for Imus is the same anger you heard when Lieberman lost the primary.
