Is a progressive emerging?
When the Public Option appeared to be all but dead and falling off a cliff..

it was the President who bravely and boldly grabbed the PO and pulled it back up and put it back on the table!

The PO would probably be a dead issue if not for the President's strong leadership on the issue.

President Obama and a handful of proud progressives in the house and senate fought the good fight and are continuing with that fight.

I BELIEVE in this President and also believe that in the end we will win this fight and win passage of a STRONG PO.

Health care reform is pitting Corporate 'Mercka against the people. Against government for the people, by the people.

President Obama chose to fight for the people knowing he made the morally correct choice. Health care reform IS testing the morality of this nation. Sleep well Mr. President, you chose wisely.

IMO there is no wiser choice that a leader of a nation can make than a moral investment in that nation's people. Health care reform is a moral investment that WILL pay dividends.

Our Prez ain't perfect. He's made a few erroneous decisions regarding the Afghan war and continuation of certain Bushco era policies; renditions, wiretapping, etc.

Considering the gigantic shit sandwich that Obama was handed from the 8 years of tyranny known as Bushco, Obama is beginning to pull this nation back up off the cliff that Bush drove it off.

Change takes time.

Undoing the damage of Tyrant Bush will take time.

Torture investigations are happening. It will take time to investigate properly before indictments come down. If Holder fucks up, Bushco officials walk free. It takes time to investigate and build a case.

If we open our eyes and look, we see the rising paranoia coming from the Reich Wing regarding torture investigations. Solidifying the fact that a serious investigation IS underway.

While fascists like Cheney and Rove will never admit it, they are living in a state of fear regarding these investigations.

Obama is feeling the heat from the left regarding the Afghan war. We may be seeing the beginnings of a policy shift in the Afghan war that may actually signal a possible end to this disgraceful war. Keep the pressure on him to end this war and it may actually work to convince the President to do the right thing and end it.

When a person puts it all together, it appears that a progressive is beginning to emerge. Slowly but surely.

Upcoming battles..

1. The continuing fight to rescue America's economy.

2. Balancing the federal budget.

3. Passage of EFCA.

4. Repeal of NAFTA, CAFTA, and reforming the way we operate under GATT.

5. Lobbyist reform and battling corporate personhood.

6. Ending both wars and reduction of our defense budget.

7. LGBT rights.

This list isn't prioritized. They're all equally important.

I believe that the President will lead the fight for the people on these issues. #6.. I'm not so sure. At least it appears the President is starting to listen to the left.

IMO the answer to the thread title..

YES!

Mr President, we wuv you when you punch back. Knock'em the fuck out!

5. Public campaign financing needs to be on your list. It should help fight MOST of the problems...
... facing us now.

Perhaps that is included in your item 5, but that should be a required item one way or the other. Perhaps even the next item after health care if we want to pave the way to help pass the others sooner.

6. You are correct!
While typing #5 reminded me of election reform and campaign finance reform, I went on and forgot to add it to the list.

Thanks for adding that. You are correct too. Election reform and cfr is as important as anything in that list.
