The RW still relies on "wedge" issues to stir up it's base, but now

they have discovered that the wedge does not need to contain even the smallest grain of truth.

They are gleefully besides themselves these days, since they discovered you can just make stuff up completely from scratch, the media will give it legs, and their base will believe it.

hang themselves like what happened in 2006 & 2008. They have effectively run off any potential Raygun-type figure that might save their day due to their nonsensical vitriol and lunatic fringe litmus tests.
