Is the CBO's Study on Single-Payer Out Yet?
Just wondering, because about a month ago, someone on DU said that they were doing a study on how much money single-payer would save.

1. Last night I was listening to the news in Canada. Someone said
that the U.S.A. will soon pay ten % of government spending on medical programs like medicaide, medicare, the V.A., etc. That Great Briton currently spends that much and covers everybody in the country. That the US government would soon not be able to afford defence spending if this trend is allowed to continue. You need lower prices for health care now. The public option is the only real way to lower costs.

2. That might have been me.
I was interested in Weiner's "Medicare for all" amendment and called his office about whether it was being scored by CBO. This was just before they went on break and right after Pelosi said they would vote on the amendment. They told me they'd applied for the review. I explicitly asked if that meant it would be done instead of it might be done, and was told it would be done.

I don't know if they will release it as soon as it is done or if they will time its release to effect some sort of strategy. If for strategy, perhaps it will link to the debate in the Senate. There are three public options votes in the Finance committee coming - from Schumer, Rockafeller, and Wyden. Rockafeller and Shumer's votes are tomorrow, I don't know when Wyden's amendment will be considered.
