i'm really bad
i can't listen to a republican anymore. just seeing that R next to the name turns me off. they could be making total sense and i'd never know it because i am totally prejudiced. i just despise them.

1. Same here - just listening to a Republican even briefly drains your IQ level!
Their statements are so illogical and ignorant it fries your brain even briefly listening to them... some today are such fools they make Bush look great!

2. I am thoroughly disgusted by the right. They no longer deserve our
respect. Respect that was never given us.

3. Well, at least you're honest about it...
:7

Seriously, though...I find myself in the same position, thinking the same thing...if they ever said anything that made sense, I probably wouldn't hear it through the filter of my own prejudice.

In fact, sometimes when I DO "hear" them, I automatically reject what they say because they are Republicans. Not sporting, I know, but what the hell...

4. Being exposed to impure thoughts is bad for you. A person
sould stay focused on what they believe and never listen to opposing viewpoints lest they become corrupted.

8. Yeah, and stepping into dog shit once, twice, three times
should not teach you a lesson to avoid the turds next time.

10. Well, there's listening to opposing viewpoints, then there is
hearing the same talking points repeated over and over and over again.

If I listen to what a Republican has to say, I know damned well that it's going to be the same thing being spewed by nearly all of the rest of them.

When they start thinking and speaking for themselves instead of yapping like parrots, then I'll listen.

5. I get emails from Republicans...
I used to refute them, point by point.
Then I started just laughing at them.
Now they go directly into the trash.

Life is way too short to waste on Republicans and their brain-dead bullshit.

6. I agree. Me too. Even if I break down and decided to listen to
a republican, it is always a total disappointment. It's getting so I can spot a republican a mile away, as soon as they start talking.

11. Same here...I have NEVER been surprised
by anything a Republican has said.

It's like watching a movie one has seen many many times...you can repeat, almost word for word, nearly all of the dialog.

12. ITA. It's no longer a matter of respecting differing viewpoints or listening to them
Rethugs are so full of inanity and illogic, they make you dumber just listening to them.

13. do you have children? have you ever worked in a school?
that's what trying to have a logical discussion with a republican is like

what's the point?

how often can you convince either that their point of view could ever possibly be incorrect?

15. i have children
never worked in a school, but i can say honestly that arguing with my children was much more fruitful, satisfying, and less frustrating than listening to the shit spouted by republicans these days.

perhaps i should have elaborated in my post. i was trying to watch a hearing on c-span yesterday. but every time a fucking republican started mouthing off i could almost feel my blood pressure rise. my brow furrow, a scowl take over my face. i turned it off. that's why i said, i'm really bad. i just cannot seem to countenance them any more.

16. Same here
I remember a long time ago thinking that Republicans actually had some good ideas. Now they're just into greed and taking care of the rich and throwing everyone else under the bus. I try to remember that they weren't always like that.
