They know how charismatic and popular he is. He doesn't spread fear and loathing when he shows up on TV. He is dangerous to their overall plan of making him look like a bad guy.

The people who watch CNN are not watching Fox, MSNBC. and vice-versa.
Likewise if he appears on ABC he is not being seen on CBS and NBC.
Every channel has their audience. To people in the Beltway, it
may seem repetitious but the American People are the ones who should
count. In other words, to get to all or as many Americans as
possible, he must appear on many outlets. This means many appearances.

The Beltway is always out of sink with the American People. Let
the People see and hear the President in peace.
