Senator John Kyl just said...
"I don't need maternity care, so why should it have to be in my Health Care plan?"

Can you say "Family Values"?

9. Yes, Senator Blanche Lincoln replied...
...that perhaps him mother might need it...

(even Olympia Snowe voted against whatever motion Kyl was proposing)

19. I believe it was Sen. Debbie Stabenow who interjected into Kyl’s remarks to remind him,
“I think your mom probably did.”

5. Kyl's a dumbass and is expected to say stupid
things like that. I bet he'd squeal like a pig, however, if his generous government plan refused to pay for his viagra.

12. But, but, but......

He's working so hard, harder than anyone else in the hearing. He's got his jacket off and his cuffs turned back. Maybe he'll start wiping his brow with a farmer handkerchief for added effect.

So what if he makes no sense! His knuckle dragging Arizonian constituents are mighty impressed with their manly man Senator.

What a freaking blemish Kyl is on the Senate and the state of Arizona. He almost makes McCain look sane.

16. He uses that populist sounding statement(pretending to be on the
side of regular Joe or Jane) when what he is really protecting
is the Insurance Company. He does not want demands put on the
Insurance Company.

This is the way the GOP operates, pretend they are looking out
for the little guy but they are really looking out for Business.

17. Is that one of the 564 amendments to delay the Finance Committee healthcare bill?
If so, he said it because he knew it would stimulate long statements by legislators wanting to be filmed defending insurance for pregnant women. That could delay things for another hour.

Apparently yesterday he made a comment later in the proceedings that was identical to one he had made earlier that day and got mad at being reminded of his time limit.
