Family Guy's whole comic premise is "Random shit happens, pop culture reference, random shit, Stewie's gay!"

It's funny in a Robot Chicken sort of way, I suppose, but I find it repetitive. Maybe it requires large amounts of weed to enjoy to the fullest.

It's the most syndicated show on TV right now. It's being played several times a day on at least 5 different channels. That wouldn't be the case if it was a bad show.

That said, it is a pot friendly show, I'm not sure why you think that's a bad thing. :smoke:

If I have to bring substances, apparatuses, and scratch-and-sniff cards to enjoy a show or movie to the fullest, it's just not that good :)

I also tend to not just quality by ratings and syndication. it's easy to watch, is all that means.

...I didn't really find him all that funny or entertaining. I used to like him when he subbed for Carson so I thought I'd like him as the permanent host. But I watched a few times and found it wasn't the same, so I stopped watching the Tonight Show.

Carson was really slowing down in his later years. His monologues were terrible. He'd frequently get booed. It was playful booing, but it was still pretty bad.

He brought Leno on because he didn't want somebody funnier than he was.

But he knew Leno just wasn't good enough to be a full host of the Tonight show.

Now O'Brien. There's an entertainer.

when he did the stand-up circuit before the Tonight Show. Leno had a hilarious night club act that had everyone in stitches laughing. At that time he was not subbing for Carson yet, but was showing up on Letterman's show.

The transition from night clubs to TV didn't work for his type of humor.

Fox comedy show, meant to be the Fox version of The Daily Show, was so "hilarious". Well, according to Rush, anyway. Did anyone see that abysmal show? Ann Coulter also made an appearance. Yes, Fox attempted to have a Daily Show. A very unfunny, sad Daily Show. I think they managed to get two shows on the air before even the Fox brass realized how pathetic they were. Also, Rush appeared years ago on Letterman. He was sweating heavily and the audience booed him. You had to feel sorry for the guy. He looked like he was about to have a heart attack.

When I was a kid, I wanted to be grown up so I could stay up late and watch Jonny Carson.
As an adult, I had to get up early to go to work, so I couldn't stay up late most nights anyway, but I cvaught some shows on Fridays....

Then Johnny retired and I stopped watching.

(Indeed, what DO we put monetary value on and how it's defined. "Supply and demand" is a cherrypicked concept. Nobody wants to be a janitor, therefore wages for that profession should be going up to GET people to do it. Yet they're not... just one example of half a million I could type up - and both in argument against AND FOR 'free market' I see it both ways, even if my personal bias isn't being for it.)
