I just had a free flu shot at Walgreen's.
This is not a thread for arguing the pros and cons of flu shots, it is about access to the vaccines for people who choose to have them.

I filled out a form which asked for a MediCare number, which I have, so it was free. I waited about 2 minutes after completing the form. The shot was A-OK and Walgreen's gave me a water bottle filled with goodies.

So I would highly recommend Walgreen's which is giving vaccinations in all its stores.

2. K&R
I just got mine at my Doctor's office. I'm not on Medicare yet, but I'm kicking this so that others who can take advantage will see it.

28. Of course people are contagious with the flu 24 hours before exhibiting symptoms.
So if he got the flu he got it before the shot. Besides it's a dead virus.

5. I am probably gonna go there once the ghastly heat wave is over next week and get
my seasonal flu shot. They charge $25 if you don't have Medicare. It's pricey (last one I got a couple of years ago was $15 IIRC), and I will still need to get the H1N1 later, but the last thing I can afford right now is to miss work due to illness.

so substantial in the current economic climate, but you get my drift).

Tissue package
Lotion
Crayons
Pill case

Not big things, but it is the kind of think the Women's shelter always want.

20. I got my annual at Target when I went to pick up my stuff
err meds.

Had a sore arm for two days... and that's it

When the Hinnie flu shot shows at the clinic, I am ready.

Didn't want to get both at the same time

By the way, if you get sick after the vax... it takes 5-7 days for the flu vax to act, the hinnie 7-10, fyi.

25. Hopefully my baby girl can get her swine flu shot soon.
Edited on Fri Sep-25-09 08:44 PM by Shell Beau
She is one of the prime candidates. It has been taking over MS here lately. But I will be getting the regular ole flu shot. Probably from Walgreens. I don't want to risk getting it and passing it off to her. edit: Or risk giving it to anyone else for that matter (but mainly my little angel!)

31. Please feel free not to take the flu shot...
but please don't advise others to do what you do. Clearly, you are uninformed, and uninformed medical advice is unwanted advice.

It will leave more for those who are smart enough to realize that medicine has advanced since the second century.
