It would be a radioactive cinder by now. Yet we allow for profit insurance to do exactly the same thing.

1. Your post should be made into a giant
banner.

It should be the headline on every newspaper and news website in existence, all over the world.

It should be the topic of every homily and sermon in every church and mosque and synagogue and house of worship in the United States.

It should be the first subject discussed in every public and private school, college, university, institution of learning in this country.

It should be written on every menu in every restaurant.

It should be painted on the sides of buses and cabs and trains and planes and ships.

All new cars should have this post painted across the trunk.

Each baby born should be given a card with this on it, for the child to hold onto throughout life.

A reminder that not all the murderers are as easy to spot as Charlie Manson, but the nicely-dressed ones are much more vicious, much more dangerous, much more culpable than Charlie ever was or will be.

Thank you for putting in such stark and simple and indisputable terms.

Outrage.

Beyond outrage.

And they get away with it.

K&R...............................................

3. good analogy
I wrote a LTTE using a similar analogy which, unfortunately, will probably not be published in my local conservative newspaper. Because fear of H1N1 is so prominent in the news, I asked "what if our town's entire population was doomed to die of the flu? Wouldn't you expect, no, demand that our government DO something to prevent it? Wouldn't you be screaming outrage from your rooftops?" When it's put into a personal context, I find it incomprehensible that our friends, neighbors, and relatives don't get it. It makes me extremely angry, but very sad, too.

10. Actually, if they were killing 45,000 Democrats they would probably have a gummint contract.

11. And I sometimes wonder if that isn't part of their criteria for rejection of claims.
Corporations have access to information about us that even some of our neighbors don't know.
