As if an insurance company would upcharge a man's coverage for maternity like they do smokers. A woman of childbearing age, yes, but not a 60+ year old man.

Ridiculous.

Also, I don't have kids, so why should anybody else's children get coverage? No one in my family has diabetes, sickle cell anemia, ulcers or any number of other maladies, so why should those be covered? Take it to the extreme - as long as it is not a disease that every single American suffers from, it should not be covered. :sarcasm:

And that doesn't seem to hurt in Arizona elections. I lived in Phoenix for six years, totally amazed that Joe Arpaio could remain in office. The legislature there makes the Florida legislature look almost normal.

Stabenow had a good retort back to him, but I would have loved to see a woman on that committee turn around to this jerk and say that she didn't need prostate care so let's terminate prostate coverage. And let's start with the congressional insurance plan first.
