Ad targeting a little off on some DU threads...

I swear, it's hysterical. Just saw a thread about a US military Predator drone crashed into the head quarters on an Iraqi political party, and at the end of the thread is for (wait for it..) Radio controlled airplanes,

The one in the graphic looked just like a Predator Drone.

Anyone have any other stories about humorously inappropriate auto adds on out threads?

Buying a star (at any amount) gives you the right to erase those pesky intruders...

... on stories about the latest cock-up in Afghanistan or Iraq, army recruitment
... on a story about gun control, some handgun manufacturer's ad

I may be misremembering some of this a bit; I see these ironic ads so much that I hardly take notice of them anymore.

a while ago I was watching Larry King during my break at work. They had at the bottom of the screen the name of the show, "Larry King Live" and under that "Michael Jackson Dead". I just find that really funny.

My ex is civilian support for predators deployed by the air force.

He is both a pilot and an A&P.

The remote controls ARE a little bigger than those on hobby models. ;)

I don't have ads on thread pages, so I can't offer up any other good (or not) matches.

I would love to donate... I really would. Not just for the perks, I could care less about being "ad free", (I'd just love to post in the special interest forums).

But my ass has been broke for a long time. Until last year I worked a full decade in the local theme parks, because they were close to the only game in town. They paid shit wages, even for people who had been there for as long as I had. I'm currently back in school and relying almost entirely on slim financial aid to support myself. So if living on a budget means I can't have a little gold star... well I'll just have to find a way to go on..

Don't get me wrong I love the DU, it's been my island of sanity for eight years, and it's proven to be a vital recourse for a lot of people. I just don't have the means to pitch in.

I might be reading in to some of your posts... but I felt a strong guilt trip vibe.

Don't try the guilt trip with me. I grew up with an Italian mother... I've built up an immunity.
