I got one once but don't know if it helped

I typically don't get the flu (that I know of)

but I was thinking with the recent Crohn's diagnosis it might be a great idea

So I tend to get it about every 3-4 years. I will get it this year, b/c I don't have time to get the flu twice in one season.

9. Getting mine next week

as soon as I get back from vacation, where I hope I don't pick up any flu bugs.

I have a friend with the H1N1 flu so I'll be getting that vaccine as soon as it hits the clinic. I'm not in one of the higher rate catagories, but then neither is my friend.

I am also encouraging both of my adult chidren to get it. Both work with the public; one is a teacher and the other works in the courts and take the NY subway everyday.

I'm not panicking over this but the last time I had the flu I thought I was going to die I felt so awful. I don't want to feel that way again, even if I'm not dying.

14. I am getting a seasonal flu shot this year. In part because, if a swine flu

infection is superimposed on seasonal flu, it could result in reassortment of genes and development of a nastier, more dangerous swine flu. I wouldn't want THAT on my conscience (if I survived to worry about it).

For all of the talk about not being able to get ill after getting a vaccination, it's odd that when I had to get them while in the military, I usually got flu-like symptoms within hours of getting the vaccine.

My county health dept is offering both flu shots for free with a drive through clinic at the county fair grounds. Gotta love it! But I do have to wait until Oct. 30..which seems kind of late in the game.
