Much as Alan Grayson seems to be our new hero...
Does he have anything in his past that the repukes can use against him?

(I have read a little about his legendary temper)

1. It doesn't matter -- they'll fabricate something if they need to. n/t

3. I agree
Repeat the lie enough, it becomes truth.

4. Well, if they had anything of significance
we would have heard it when he attacked the supreme monarch of the Republicans, Rush Limbaugh, when he said he wanted Obama to fail.

5. No... I know the guy personally and worked on his campaign: he's a straight arrow.

He's married, has 5 kids, made a lot of money as a founder and the CEO of IDT.

He's a Harvard trained lawyer who has spent years suing government contractors who have ripped off the government.

6. I don't think he is the type that really gives a shit.
That's what is so beautiful about it. He has refused to apologize for speaking the truth before. He has a spine. He has courage. He speaks truth to bullies and refuses to back down. Now, THAT is how the Democratic Party should be.

7. I agree...
He'll be skewered by Faux and probably most other "pundits" but he speaks truth to power. I wish him the best.

17. The beautiful thing about it is that
when someone doesn't care what pundits think or say and doesn't cave to the pressure, change actually is able to happen.

8. That's because he didn't run for Congress to be somebody - he ran to DO something.
He's already made a huge fortune in Business and has been very successful in the law - he's not in this to "be somebody" he's in it to DO something and make a differnece.

He sank $2.5 million of his own fortune into taking the seat from Republican do-nothing Ric Keller because he was so disgusted with him and with the Republicans in general. He's not in this for the job or to become a lobbyist after a Congressional career - he's in there to help regular people.

18. In other words, he is a true statesman.
If only we could get more true statesmen in our government. Imagine the possibilities.

13. That's an exaggeration..
Alan doesn't suffer fools gladly - I'd say in temperment he's very much like Barney Frank but he doesn't have an unreasonable temper.

He's really a nice guy and a thoughtful guy if you get to know him, very smart about a lot of different topics.

14. Wow is right, thanks.
This reminds me of Huey Long. A brutal politician who sided with working folks. Sometimes.

I'm not sure if I like him or if he scares the shit out of me. Maybe both.

16. If enough Democrats had taken the Grayson Approach, the GOP
would have stopped some of their vicious nonsense long ago.

They will harp because they do not want the Public to see
anything but weak hand-wringing Democrats.

Hang in there Grayson. At least there seems to be ONE
Democrat with a spine.

20. Agreed.
Anthony Weiner is pretty good too - I don't think he's done anything like Grayson, but he's at least fighting for the people with Medicare for All.
