Chicago is one of the most Democratic cities in the country. There hasn't been a rushpublican mayor here since Big Bill Thompson in 1927 (Al Capone's BFF) and the state party is a total joke. Of course they're going to cheer against anything that makes Democrats money or makes them look good. Ironically, the local faux channel in Chicago is very low key...their local coverage is very Pro-Chicago...they know it means money to them if this bid goes through.

The fact the wingnuts hate President Obama may be a good thing...so many around the world are so glad he's the POTUS over the wreckless, lazy pseudo-cowboy of the past. His presence and what he represents is going to be a major factor in the final vote...I'll bet many African countries vote for Chicago just to reward the US for electing a black President.
