On Marketplace. Two commentators said the "reports of it's demise are, sadly, accurate."

If what they said was true, it sounds like the health plan is going to end being a big Zero for Obama.

They also said the current economy troubles are going to be a boon for Republicans when midterm elections come around.

1. You do know that Market Place, while a pretty good show, is one
of the most conservative PBS show.

13. Yep.
They have been ever since they caved to political pressure during the Bush administration. I've been listening a long time, and all the news programs have changed, not all too subtly, either.

8. What a load of crap
The public option has been pronounced "dead" a dozen times for the last 2 months, and yet, it's still alive.

Hand wringer.

12. Megan McArdle (Atlantic) and Felix Salmon (Reuters)
The Atlantic's Megan McArdle and Reuters blogger Felix Salmon talk with Tess Vigeland about whether the public option for health care is dead and if financial regulation will still get done.

10. here is the lowdown about Kai
Ryssdal graduated from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, followed by spending eight years in the United States Navy, first flying from the aircraft carrier U.S.S. Theodore Roosevelt, and then as a Pentagon staff officer.

Smells pretty Republican to me.

To be fair - He hides his political stripes well and his program is quite interesting.

11. sure doesn't hide his anti-union stripes very well.
Last time I listened to more than a minute or two, he was bashing the living shit out of unions for taking down Detroit.
I think Robert Reich is the only 'liberal' they have on.
I just wist they were the only NPR show saying public option was dead. I listen to NPR very little anymore and when I do I always seem to get a whiff of someone saying it will never pass, like Mara Liasson (of Fux)

14. Sounds as if they don't know what's going on
Haven't they heard about reconciliation? Did they address that? If it was good enough for Bush's massive budget-busting tax cuts, it's good enough to get health care for all Americans.
