I have a feeling a lot of Theater owners. Don't want this movie to be seen. I hope Mike gives away free downloads after the wider release.

1. I think theater owners would love to make money off of this movie
just like they love to make money off any release. And I don't think that Moore's movie poses any threat to the status quo.

6. I agree ,it's easier and more profitable to milk it ,and pay people to
Refute it ,just like they did with his first three hits.

Something someone once said about capitalists selling the rope used to hang them with...

Oh, yeah... that's right - the Billy Joel hit! It'd help if I read his user name! LOL

7. Allentown surpassed Erie in the 90s
We are 60 miles from New York and 60 miles from Philadelphia and have a major highway to both. Needless to say we have grown in size.

Billy Joel also wrote a song about us, though it isn't exactly complimentary :-)

13. Where is Reading on that list? I know we were #1 in crime for a small city
in the US, but that was several years ago, and many of the street gang guys either died or got older...

Allentown used to be called "The Little Apple" - a lot of folks moved there from NYC in the '30's through the '60's - including my dad.

Considering what they were 30 years ago. Capitalism, isn't it so beautiful in its destruction!

3. I'm sure there are some that won't show it, just like Brokeback Mountain (which was wonderful btw)
and part of it is the backers of the film seeing how it does before spreading it for further release (I hope!)

I will see it by Sunday night. I am sure I will laugh and be pissed...

10. Conversely
I live in a small, very conservative Florida town - I knew in advance our one movie theater would not feature Moore's film. Michael Moore is about as popular here as a virulent case of swine flu. Anyway, my plan was to travel to Orlando to see it, a two-hour trip. To my shock and delight, the film is playing in a neighboring county which is only slightly less conservative than mine, Hot damn, I am so there today!

20. I wish I could make it to see the movie
But between what my out of pocket for my surgery, an unexpected root canal, and some repairs to the house, I have no money to spend on movies. I'll just have to wait until it is on DVD or satellite TV.
