It is unacceptable that the Facebook poll creator will not be punished
I'm getting really tired of episodes like this where somebody makes a threat, and the Secret Service "visits" them, and then nothing more happens, other than a stern lecture from two bulky guys in suits and sunglasses. Have we heard any updates on the man in Maryland who held up a sign threatening not just the President, but his family too? Why is "Pastor" Steven Anderson still walking around a free man?

I simply don't care if it was a kid or not who did the Facebook poll. Is there a white collar juvenile hall system? Does the federal prison system have a juvenile system? There has to be some more accountability than just a stern talking-to by federal agents.

1. Depends on how old the kid is, it seems to me.
Personally, I'm going to just let the SS decide the issue. That's what they're there for.

2. You wanna put some kid in jail for making an online poll?
Pretend it was shrub in the poll, still feel the same?

4. Yes I would be upset if it was a poll about Bush. No I don't want a kid to go to jail

But this kid and the parents need a damn scary good talking to. I assume the Secret service did that.

7. Yes I would
Why does it make a difference which president is named in the poll. During the Bush administration the SS were quick to go after people who made comments about Bush, have you forgotten about the "Free Speech Zones", and yet they let nut jobs with guns get close to the venue where Obama is going to be.

Personally I have my own doubts about how sincere the SS is about protecting Obama. Just speculation, nothing concrete.

5. I'll be cautious in calling for teens doing stupid stuff to be imprisoned.
Though, if we locked up all of them we'd have plenty of jobs. 50-60 million additional prisoners would kick ass for the private prisons because no way states could keep up.

6. Indeed
So I say no jail for non-violent teen drug offenders. Problem solved.

Thank you for bringing that up.
