Do you believe the American people will accept what Limbaugh, Beck, and Levin are selling?
Do you even believe that the Republican Party will accept what they are selling? Do you believe we are ready for the division, the hatred, and the racism they espouse?

Those that think the Democratic Party is about to split should take a closer look at the present Republican Party. They are on the precipice of disintegration. One small incident could send them into a civil war between themselves.

Paul Krugman, in this morning's NY Times said they were acting like bratty "13 year-olds". Those that cheered when our country lost the Olympics are not the majority in this country. There is a lot of self-deception and delusion amongst these hateful right-wingers.

A few mainstream Republicans, such a Lindsey Graham and David Brooks, understand the potential for destruction with the message these folks are putting out. All we can do is just them more rope...

4. There is one group that will, and another group that may...
The 22%-ers will always buy it, no matter what. The Mushy Middle will buy it if the Dems do not sell their competing narrative. Especially if economic conditions do no improve. People are already frightened, and looking for scapegoats. The Right is always ready to supply scapegoats. They always know exactly who their enemies are. The Dems are always a day late and a dollar short.

6. There's enough people now buying anything the sell.
Their main objective is to turn that 28% into an army of raving lunatics. It's just enough people to wreak major havoc. GOP leaders love their useful idiots. They can stay out of the fray, or whip up their base as they please. We've all grown pretty accustomed to this.

They're not interested in engaging reasonable people. Their numbers of followers won't grow much, but they won't go away any time soon, either.

7. sadly, a lot of them will
I know a guy who is a union member and a nice person, but he hears (and sadly repeats) a lot of that Rush & Beck crap every day. He doesn't bother to investigate and see if something passes a smell test, he just repeats what he hears, and when I correct him, he disbelieves me and gets angry. I even try to do so diplomatically at first, but that doesn't seem to matter much.

For instance, he is convinced that FOX did/does not promote the Tea Party events despite any evidence to the contrary, and he thinks the 912 thing was the voice of the angry, non-partisan majority. Well, I guess he got one out of three right; they are angry.

9. Every goddamned television channel is selling watered-down versions of the same agenda.
The American people have already accepted it.

12. Yes. Huckabee and Palin are very popular with the republicans, especially the
"Christian" fundamentalists and evangelicals who control the party and convention. Civil war between themselves? Those people are crazed, and we may see something close to civil war in this country between the two parties. The two political parties are more hostile toward each other now than I have ever seen. The 60's were volatile, but today's right wing is dangerous, openly calling for the president's assassination for example.
