1. Oh, well as long as the words "Public Option" are used, it's good enough for me

4. Open up Medicare in 2010 to all who want it.
Millions of us are desperate right now. We need the most robust public option-- not a new system that needs to be debated and shaped for years to come.

5. Unrec'ed for the obvious and lame snark.
I want a strong PO for everyone except you and the teabagger brigade.

7. Because snarky pessimism is counterproductive.
And your particular brand is anti-progressive.

8. So is redefining the public option. Aren't most progressives AGAINST Dems redefining the PO?
What's so progressive about letting other Democrats redefine the public option so that the word is meaningless? What's so productive about passing a bad bill, with opposition from WITHIN the party? It will completely show voters that Democrats are bought and paid for, just like Repubs.

What are we supposed to do while our own party bullshits us on the public option, cheer them on?

"Oh, look at that urine falling from the sky! IT'S RAINING! WHEEEEEEE!"

9. I'm sure you will be "redefining" it in a negative light when it comes out
It won't matter what it really looks like...

11. Why would I redefine the public optiion---I'm not obligated to serve lobbyists and lie to the public
the way our elected representatives are.

I want the public option available to everyone, with no triggers required to enact it. Pretty clear definition, right? If that's what we get, I promise I won't redefine it.

Any other definition is the redefinition. What I'm hearing from Schumer, Reid, and Robert Gibbs on Friday, is a lot of people saying "some form of the public option..." and other weasel words.

Do our elected Dems think we're that stupid that they can change the definition, then blame US for not being satisfied with the way they negotiated themselves away from the real public option?

10. Not just a strong, robust public option, but one available to all.
I might not choose it, but I want the choice.

12. According to schaeming daemons, you'd be the one redefining the public option.
That looks like their plan---pass a weak version of the PO, congratulate themselves for their bipartisanship, blame us liberals for being too stubborn to compromise on our definition of "public option."

13. A strong robust untriggered public option available to anyone
And that's the bare minimum. Anything less than that is completely unacceptable, and Obama would have to veto that shit and send it back until they got it right.

16. A strong Public Option......, unfortunately...
NONE of the BILLS currently being debated contain a "Strong Public Option":
Publicly Owned, government administered, Health Insurance ("like Medicare") available to anyone who wants it.

NONE of the BILLS currently in Congress even come close to a "Strong Public Option".

EVERY BILL currently in Congress WILL be a bonanza of BILLIONS for the For Profit Health Insurance Industry.
