Historical revisionism is rampant. We need to stop it.
Exhibit A:

A family member of mine actually claimed that the robber barons of the late 19th century were "great men," and that "we had a great economy in that period."

Exhibit B:

Many people are claiming the New Deal failed. This is a lie. A big lie. The New Deal and government intervention through WW2 directly led to the most prosperous economy in our nation's history.

Exhibit C:

Ronald Reagan and the Bushes failed because they weren't "conservative enough." This is like claiming the Soviet Union failed because it wasn't Communist enough. Horseshit.

People, theories like these are gaining mainstream acceptance, to the point that such bunk as Austrian economics and supply-side economics is tolerated or even promoted.

We need to stop the historical revisionists from rewriting history. Otherwise, we will repeat the errors of the past. And this nation can't afford to do that.

1. We already have repeated the errors of the past.
The errors of the Robber Barons, and the lax regulation before FDR, and, it looks like, Vietnam. And it is sinking this nation.

5. The Confederates have been in full edit/delete mode for decades
Its like they read 1984 and A Brave New World on a lark and decided that it would be a great idea to put them into practice.

The worship of St Ronnie it's self is a pure rewrite. SOB raised taxes, grew government like a mofo, and ran up massive debt but somehow he is Reich Wing/free market Jesus and John Wayne at once.

I hadn't heard any calling Reagan a flop though they try like hell on Bush but I'm sure to mind 'em.

8. Didn't you know? ALL Republican presidents are great
Except for H.W. Bush, because he lost to a Democrat.

11. Historical revisionism is necessary and your exhibits are a testament to that.

How else would one correct the lies? how else to cut through the "the history goes to the victors" curtain?

Lying is rampant. We need to stop that. Historians help us by revising histories with what actually took place.
