One of the most disturbingly cool toys for kids I've ever seen
Okay, it's not really a toy, but with all this emphasis on questionable toys and games for kids, I just had to share this one with y'all:

http://www.thinkgeek.com/geektoys/plush/bb2e/?cpg=106H

This high-quality sleeping bag looks just like a Tauntaun, complete with saddle, internal intestines and plush lightsaber zipper pull. Now when your kids tell you their favorite Star Wars movie is "Attack of the Clones" you can nestle the wee-ones snug in simulated Tauntaun fur while regaling them with the amazing tale of "Empire Strikes Back".

Use the plush lightsaber zipper pull on the Tauntaun sleeping bag to illustrate how Han Solo saved Luke Skywalker from certain death in the freezing climate of Hoth by slitting open the belly of a dead Tauntaun and placing Luke inside the stinking (but warm) carcass.

4. What started as a joke
Has turned out to be a big deal. I remember when this was originally conceived and the demand was so bit they decided to try and make it. I wish them luck in their new business.

The more realistic the sleeping bag smells.
Win-Win situation!

8. I remember when it was an April Fool's joke one of the Think-Geek employees came up with
They made their own Taunton bag (fairly easy to make for anyone that's done a weekend quilt or halloween costume for the kids), snapped a photo of one of their kids in it, and put it up as a joke.
I was thinking of making a turtle "bed bag" for the kidlet in a similar manner; use eggcrate foam, microfiber or jersey and an old sheet for the bottom and fashion it to zip-together with an over-sized circular plushy top quilted like a shell. An attached pillow for the head, and there ya go.
I just need to get my sewing machine, the batting and the plushy fabric, and an over-sized zipper...
If I had time, this sort of bed-bag would be cool to make for swap-meet sales, especially for people who want to save wear on their mattress.
