Why are you so mad at Republicans?
It's the Democrats that are fucking you.

Seriously. I expect my enemies to be my enemies. I watch my back around them, I don't trust them any further than I can throw 'em and that's why I don't like them. I know what they are going to do, and I know who's side they are on. And that's why I don't vote for them.

It's the Dems that are the snakes in the grass here. Not all of them of course, but just enough of them to really fuck things up for the poor and the working poor of this country. Hell, I'm not going to be mad at a dog I don't know biting me because it's usually my fault for putting my hand too close to his mouth, it's the family dog that I've had forever that jumps up one day and bites me on the ass for no good reason that's going to spend some time in the dog house. Maybe it's me, but it just hurts more when it's a friend stabbing you in the back. And I thought the Dems were my friends.

Let's face it guys, a huge number of Democrats are just not that into us. They are the popular kids and we're not. We can say "hi" in the hall as much as we want, hoping against hope that they'll say "hi" back. We can yell, "Hey great game Friday night" all we want to their quarterback and we will still not be invited to the party on Saturday night. Hey, just because one Dem took pity on you and invited you to the Sadie Hawkins dance, it doesn't mean any of the others are going to see you as anything other than an ATM when it comes time for the big sock hop in 2010.

We are just not on their level, we're not the popular kids. Sorry, I know the truth hurts but you really, really need to hear it.

We can act the jilted lovers. We can sit outside their house listing to what we imagined was our song over and over, but they are not coming home. They are out on a very, very late date with the rich kid, you know the one, the banker. Or is it the insurance executive, there are so many that I forget who is who.

Maybe we need to consider starting our own group. You know, like the weirdos you see eating lunch in a tight little group under the old oak tree. Those kids aren't so bad. Sure they might have bad teeth, or clothes from last year, but at least they're honest, they care and they don't mind if you still sleep in your Starwars pajamas.

I've decided to forget about being popular and I'm hanging with the nerds because they will have my back instead of laughing behind my back.

So, where's the chess club, math club, or hey, I'll even join the drama club.

Anything is better than this.

I've been a Democrat for better than 30 years. I've worked, I've volunteered, I've given money and I've gone to Iowa on my own dime.

I'm still here because I give a shit about my country and what is being done to it.

Until the mods invite me to leave, I ain't going no where and someone like you is sure not going to run me off.

If they want to tombstone me for telling the truth, so be it, you wannabes keep you heads in the sand.

One more thing, don't you realize we could have everything we've been fighting so long for if the Dems just started acting like they are Dems?

41. Curiously, the 'cool kids' in school also thought they were in the majority,
and that's never been true, either.

In my little school, there were 22 guys on the football team. We regularly staged plays with 35+ characters, and the band always had at least 30 people in it. Hell, the chess club had 20 in it.

We geeks WAY outnumbered the 'cool kids'.

7. They're not just fucking us, they're fucking the President.
Obama is not part of the problem, and neither are MOST of the Democrats in Congress.

The problem is that if you go by ideology, rather than party identification, we do NOT have a true majority in either house of Congress.

That one simple fact is key.

Currently there are only three websites that fall into this category. Their addresses are not listed here because we do not wish to give them publicity. 43. You're really talking about the conservative Democrats
Of course there are people in the Democratic party that are conservative. Not everyone in the party is a Liberal. And I hate to inform you of this, but the last 8 years haven't been very good to liberals. Because of that, a lot of conservative Democrats got in. However, you can see that the tide is turning on this.

Now, I can tell you exactly when I started to hate the republicans. It was when Mr. 666, ronald wilson reagan, became President and started the systematic destruction of government for the people. His mantra was that government was bad, he was partially correct. Government is bad, when people that think like that are in charge.

Before Mr. 666, you could debate a republican heatedly and then go have lunch with them later on. Now you're lucky they don't threaten to kill you. They not only disagree, they demonize people who think different than them. After 666, Republicans act like born again christians, blind and fearful of anything different.

46. The problem isn't
with Democrats, it's with those who believe that they are New Democrats. The DLC, the New Democrat Coalition, and the Progressive Policy Institute, have infiltrated the traditional Democratic Party so deeply, that Howard Dean's DNC (Democratic wing of the Democratic Party) has been severely marginalized. The DCCC, and the DSCC have been controlled by the DLC for many years, and they issue marching orders to Reid and Pelosi.

Although President Obama has not publicly affiliated himself with the DLC (he denied he was a member), his cabinet is well-stocked with DLC members (Hillary and Rahm, to name a just a couple).

To me the DLC and its Third Way, Centrist, New Democrat members are NOT Democrats, but neoconservatives posing as Democrats. They were the ones who enabled eight long years of the policies which bankrupted our country by Dubya and his gang of thieves, and now they are making a mockery of any semblance of a Democratic "majority," or any efforts to reverse the damage they enabled.

It may sound like picking nits to distinguish real Democrats from New Democrats, but I would sincerely like to have my Party back, along with the pleasure of being able to loudly, and proudly, proclaim that I am an American Liberal Democrat. As it stands, I am surrounded by "Progressives" who appear to be offended by the "L" word, and represented by New Democrats who believe that DK and Dr. Dean are "left-wing" radicals.

I don't want a third political Party, I want to reclaim the Democratic Party for Democrats.

47. I hate stupid arguments about expressing legit opinions. Here's my 2 cents
I am mad at the Dems who are dragging their feet over future deficits, i.e. Blue Dogs. But I have to ask you & I guess it's rhetorical: why do the GOP Congress critters always vote like ants in a nest, all of one mind?

Can't THEY ever look at a problem facing OUR COUNTRY and try to work with the Dems to fix it? I don't think there's enough contempt expressed by the pundits & talking heads for a political party that puts it's power structure ahead of the damned oath of office they took!

I can be remarkably stupid on a regular basis, but I believe that the Blue Dogs aren't ONLY hiding behind the budget neutral crap - most of them probably believe it, misguided as it may be for this moment.

The GOP almost NEVER breaks stride, and if 2 or 3 of them do, they get attacked!

They were voted in to govern our great country, not to assure themselves fat salaries, great benefits, perks & donations in perpetuity.

So that's why I'm angry at the Blue Dogs. We're dealing with wastoid GOP hacks as it is. Can't they help to bring about the change the voters have been screaming for?

And I really wish DU'ers would stop attacking Dems who are unhappy with Dems & post controversial topics. Peace, dudes.:hippie:

Of course I hate and of course I'm mad at anyone with an R behind their name. I am a Democrat after all, in fact a Liberal Dem.

I'm not going to spoon feed people, if they can't figure out I'm talking about the Blue Dogs, then, well, er let's just say peace to them.

51. No, it wasn't the Democrats who fucked me up.
It was a Bush/Cheney political appointee who yanked my employer's funding and got me and most of my former co-workers laid off. It was my former employer's republican administrators, who not only didn't fight to keep us employed, they struck a deal with some Bush flunkies for a better chance at other funding if they didn't fight for us. They threw us under the bus for a bigger pot of loot, which they wound up not getting anyway. It was the Bush/Cheney administration and the republican-dominated Congress of 1996-2006 that fucked up our economy, preventing me from finding anything resembling employment, and consequently destroying my 20-year-old career. The Democrats had nothing to do with it. A few of them tried to help us, and they were not even from our state. Our so-called Representatives are republican. They did NOTHING to help out us, their constituents.

If you don't like this "club", then go. Get the fuck out and leave the rest of us alone.

53. Get the fuck out?
Are you kidding me? Gosh, I could kiss you.

That's gold. I see these times we spend together as golden.

54. What's been going on
with regards to some congressional Democrats seems to be right out of The Bodysnatchers. It's hard to believe that some Dems have gone to the dark side, and in some ways are now no better than repukes.

I'm not only horrified - but angry as hell. These renegade Dems need to be set straight. Now.

59. It's funny.
I didn't say I don't hate Repugs. I never said all Dems were bad. But for crying out loud, if this solid majority can't do what we've been told their going to do, then how many are really our friends?

See, I know the bully, I know the guy taking everyone's lunch money is the pugs, but we've beaten the bully. Now it's time to do something and all we are doing now is mulling over how mean the bully is.
For fuck sake, we know he's an asshole.

60.  As Lewis Black said
in his latest stand up act, (I saw a clip on KO last night) every time a Republican farts, the Democrats sniff the air and say, "Ohhhhh, let me smell it!" (Or something to that effect.)

Of course, not all Dems are reveling in the stench of repuke farts, but some are, and I'd like to kick their turncoat asses.

57. Does the last 8 years ring a bell..?
I am not pleased with the cowardice of some Dems, but there are far more Dems I know has our best interest at heart. Pukes are pukes are pukes and they, along with some Dems, are corporate loving whores.

58. It's like falling off a log, really...
I hate liars. Republicans are lying their asses off. Do the math.

It's far better than eating our own; we couldn't be more divided. A common enemy does wonders in such situations. Bashing the weak Dems only goes so far. Clearly they have their own agenda. We should stick to ours.

Especially the ones that tell you what you want to hear. Those liars are the worst of the bunch.

65. The Republicans are the first order of business. Baucus, Conrad, Lincoln,
Snowe, The Nelson Brothers (more Ben than Bill but neither are in order) turn sunshine into wet pooh with every effort to sell out Americans.

The Confederates burn me up because of the lies, slow walking, and mostly being "no" votes in the pockets of the duplicitous Republicans.

It is also time for The President and Democrats to buck up and go to the mat for the people, who will be behind them 100%.
Its time to go bigger and press for a robust public plan on an exchange open to everyone with their employer contribution intact.

Pharaoh let my people go and let us walk out with our households and possessions!!!!

Its time that our people have a life boat to get away from companies they don't want to work for anymore, bad plans, no options, and crushing expenses.

For all intents and purposes and perhaps in reality all we have to do is open up medicaid and the Federal employee system. We would then get the IRS to check the employer contribution maybe over the average of the past three years and they would have to give you say even 70% of that to make sure the value you traded for the benefits would not be stolen by the insurance companies and employers.

From a functioning moving part and a moral stand point we need more people in these exchanges and we'd naturally get more bang for the buck by at least having the most subsided people and the catastrophic/low level deal in the public option to save all that overhead off top and get youngsters in the pool. We need to get everyone some choices.

I feel something brewing and I think we need to stop nipping around the margins and go into the heart of some of these daunting problems. This ain't the time for thinking or acting small. We've never solved big problems with small ideas. We might not be able to do all we'd like but we need to do everything we can to do and not suffer the previously highlighted fools lightly.

67. This is the unconvenient truth. Well said and very rational.
And of course you are at negative recommendations. People think by bashing republicans all day they are supporting democrats. They also think if you are critical of democrats you don't belong here. Just the opposite.

We live in a world that is defined by marketing symbols. Obama used this symbolism heavily in the campaign. But whether you like Wendys or McDonalds or Burger King or democrat or republican, as subjects of the State, we are served up a fatty, deep fried meal of sickening ingredients. Its only in the symbolism things differ. Symbolism is so much easier to profit from than wholesome, fresh food.

You will find it nearly impossible to have a discussion about the rampant corruption, duplicity and cowardice of our democratic leadership. As Team Obama triangulates around public opinion, principals, justice, fairness and good government show up at the bottom of the priority list - all sacrificed for political bi-partisanship and political expediency.

This is about winning elections and we won. And as most of the democrats here quote- "at least he's better than Bush".

But, so is a pile of snot. I'm not going to celebrate about it.

70. Good words.
Wish I'd have written them.

Like I always say, it's easy to spot the bad guys, they wear big black republican hats, it's the other guys who smile their lies that I worry about.
