I got a little worried when I read my cousin's Facebook rant this morning, I thought the poor guy was going to have to be rushed to the emergency room, quoting Mark Levin as hard as he could. And all this after his happy post about plans to go to the machine gun show this weekend, ruined his mood.

I'd expect no less. And DU does foster passionate debate and (perhaps) a certain amount of hyperbole. True believers from either side are similarly shrill.

But we don't have an anti-reasonableness filter that gets you banned for life if you say something factual that rubs the moderators the wrong way. While you can get tombstoned for disrupting, you can't (or generally don't) get tombstoned merely for disagreeing with the predominant tone.

Please don't fall into the trap of false equivalency that the MSM has been mired in for years. There is little symmetry in terms of reasonableness, charity, decorum, or positivism between DU and FR. Just ain't so.
