Why was no one talking about President Obama and the Peace Prize yesterday?

I remember when it came around previously people speculated for days on who might win.

Now all of a sudden President Obama wins and it seems like it was a foregone conclusion to many.

Does anyone know who else was considered? Does anyone care?

Sorry, just my take on it.

I hadn't heard the news until my husband told me this morning and my first reaction was "Great. Too bad we can't get people in this country to think so highly of him." That pretty much sums up why no one was talking about it, I think.

They're as mad as freepers. This is going to be a wonderful day.

Hell we probably have a lot of other things in common with freepers as well.

You see, Obama really went to Europe to lobby the Nobel Committee (actually pressure them), to award him the prize). The whole Olympic thing was just a distraction. He paid people to cover for him and file his birth certificate...

But then, this year I wasn't paying attention. Just the same, I wouldn't have stated that his win would be a foregone conclusion. I learned long ago to expect the worst so that I'm not disappointed in outcomes.

Not even the media had mentioned it. But now, I am actually not surprised that the Nobel Peace Prize committee would choose him for the award. He has given so much hope to the world for a better world. His speeches have begun to unify people, more so in other countries than his own. His views on nuclear bombs, working together as a united people of the earth, of not being in a bubble and telling the world that what we each do as a country affects everyone on the planet has resounded loudly with other nations. It is so sad that so many in our own country can't see how hard he has worked in the first 8 months of his presidency.........not even those who purport to support him. He has been up against the most vilest of attacks yet he continues to work with genuine concern for every issue he has been dealt with, still wearing that broad smile that sends comfort to the world that our leader will not "go all rogue", and holds not only his countries people as valuable, but theirs too.

Wasn't the deadline in Feb? So he got it for two weeks of work? :shrug:
