I know I'm in a different dimension.

I woke up and heard Pat Buchanan say that Michael Steele was wrong in criticizing Barack Obama. He also said that nobody should be mad at Obama because it wasn't something he could control.

Of course, he sounded more churlish a little later, but I can die now. I have heard everything.

1. He randomly but only very occasionally makes sense, its disconcerting but none less valid
I actually cheered Pat sometime in the last year because he got on a populist tirade in favor of saving the auto industry and against the double standards for the bank.

Only after a moment to reflect did I process that I had just told Pat fucking Buchanan to "PREACH!!!".

I call it proof of living in interesting times. People say stuff at least once a day now that I'd never imagine til I see or hear it.

2. Pat Buchanan is a brilliant politician, no matter what his other faults...
and they are many.

He realizes that attack Obama for winning the Nobel Peace Prize is like attacking a crater for being hit by a meteroite, and it makes the right look even more petty and churlish than usual. (Something I would have though impossible.)

3. Pat Buchanan such a paradox.
One day he declares Katrina God's punishment to gays.
Then he supports protectionist trade policies to support US labor.
Then he advocates the assassination of the leader of another country.
Now he chastises the leader of the RNC for busting on Obama.
