18 Yr Old Kid kicks mom in throat, head-butts brother after cell phone taken from him
Authorities said an angry Falmouth teen kicked his mother in the throat, head-butted his brother and punched and bit his father after his mom took away his cell phone to punish him.

The Cape Cod Times reported that Brandon Turner pleaded not guilty in Falmouth District Court on Thursday to charges that include assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Police said his mother took away his cell phone after he hit his 15-year-old brother Tuesday. The next day, an angry Turner attacked members of his family.

The father, a corrections officer, had to use handcuffs to subdue his 18-year-old son. Police were forced to use leg shackles to get him under control.

13. Maybe the parents could work out a deal with the kid and send him off

boot camp.

Really? Hitting your mother? Now I don't know the family situation there, but that is low.

and that anger... I am sure a leather belt or two in his past.

That would be my guess.

31. Guessing aside. It doesn't matter.
There is no excuse for what he did. He's 18 and he kicked his mother in the throat. He deserves jail time. Maybe that will straighten him out.

39. Send him to boot camp. Marines. Jail will just harden junior.
The judge could give him a choice: jail or the armed forces.

I don't think the armed forces will take people under these circumstances anymore.

48. That's a good option.
Once upon a time, a judge offered the same choice to my father when he was a lad. It worked out well enough for him.

They should do that deal more often. I wonder how often it still happens.

Look around you at all the people who seem incapable of doing anything in their personal lives without having a phone glued to their ear.

I swear its a mental illness that the pro-corporate MSM refuses to discuss for fear of alienating large advertisers.

You want to talk about a hypothetical situation. I'm talking about the situation that happened. The father and the police handled the situation that happened. Without tasers. Real men.

(Btw, the phrase would be "have" happened. Not "of" happened.)

34. lol are you really saying that any cop who puts aside his taser and goes hands on with a suspect
is a real man, whereas a cop who deploys the taser isnt, does this apply to female officers as well. Obviously you have no idea of the number of physical altercations that occur daily between cops and criminals and how easy it is to get hurt when you are rolling around in the dirt with someone who is mayby younger than you, stronger than you, more desperate than you, high on drugs, mentally wired to the moon.

38. I am saying that this situation proves it is possible to subdue someone without using tasers.
Physical altercations between cops and criminals are not a new phenomenon. Anyone who applies to be a police officer is aware that the job involves physical danger, and they are trained in how to deal with it. The men in this situation used their training well.

Unlike the policeman in Texas who used his taser on a 72-year-old great-grandmother, or the one in Ohio who used his on a pregnant woman. Or the one in Virginia who used his on the grandfather and the mother at a baptism party in their own backyard. Or the police who continue to use their tasters on suspects AFTER they are handcuffed. Yes, I would go so far as to say that these are not real men.

No wonder the kids like that...the father is a fucking police officer (actually worse) an inmate guard...they are trained from day one to treat people like shit...it's hard to leave that ingrained thinking at the office!

The kid could have problems of his own choosing, or it could be family related.

Do you know if the corrections officer/father is an asshole?

he first encountered a firm "no" from a parent at age 18.

And 18 isn't a kid. It's an adult. Hope the judge gets real harsh.

27. I don't know which to blame more. "The Worst Generation" or the goddamn cell phones.
They're both pretty bad.

Worse than the cellphones though, is the texting. Forget the traffic accidents, beyond that, texting, amongst adults (and yes, far too many of us are addict of it too) -- texting amongst us adults is just high-tech enabling for adulterers, manipulators, and helicopter parents -- people who should be shamed and disempowered, rather than enabled.

O tempora, o mores! (And I'm NOT being ironic.)

One quick call to the cell company and you can have the line suspended for up to 60 days to punish the child. Then he still has the cell phone, he just can't use it.
