petraeus created a militia (after bremer destroyed the army?) swallow the kool-ade, did we richard?

2. Al Qaeda didn't exist in Iraq prior to 2003

But once we took out Saddam, Iraq became a fertile recruiting territory for Al Qaeda. Richard Engel is on some kind of drugs if he thinks the Iraqis are happy about that.

he was explaining the difference between iraq and afghanistan.

in iraq there was civil war between the sunnis and the shiites.

the sunnis loved us because, in trying to stop the civil war we protected them from the shiites.

in afghanistan, the taliban doesn't really mess with the locals, so we can't try to appeal to them by "protecting" them.

pay attention, before you trash a good journalist.

iraq before we blew up the country, and they actually had a functioning military before paul bremer disbanded it.

oh yeah, and who created osama bin laden and al-qaeda? oh, right, the cia.

amd when did the civil war start in iraq? pretty much after we destroyed it.
