Governor Rick Perry is continuing his astonishing slow motion "Saturday Night Massacre" in doing everything possible to prevent forensic fire evidence to be presented showing that the execution of Cameron Todd Willingham was executed on the basis of sloppy evidence, and admitting that Texas executed an innocent man.

Perry has now removed the fourth member of the Texas Forensic Science Commission that was scheduled to hear the report as described by ABC News:

Beyler, chairman of the London-based International Association for Fire Safety Science, said in the report that the opinions of a state fire official in the case were "nothing more than a collection of personal beliefs that have nothing to do with science-based fire investigation."

Fourth member replaced on Texas panel probing execution

CNN) -- Texas Gov. Rick Perry has removed a fourth member of a state commission charged with investigating claims that an innocent man may have been executed, his office said.

A family photo shows Cameron Todd Willingham with his wife, Stacy, and daughters Kameron, Amber and Karmon.

The Texas governor has now replaced all of the four members that, under law, he is allowed to appoint to the commission. The remaining five members are appointed by the state's lieutenant governor and attorney general.

Perry's critics say his actions are politically motivated, a charge he denies.

The investigation into claims that faulty evidence led Texas to execute an innocent man in 2004 was at a "crucial point" when the shakeup occurred, one of the replaced members said.

The commission was to hear from the author of a scathing report in the case of the executed man, Cameron Todd Willingham, when Perry announced on September 30 that he would replace three members.

Where are the Republicans that are standing up against the outrage of this abuse of power?

Where are the modern Elliot Richardsons?

Where are the contemporary William Ruckelshaus's?

Are there no Republicans of conscience left?

Will not even the murder of an innocent person by the hand of the state spur you to stand up for basic decency?

3. Not to defend Bush, but Perry is much worse than Bush
Bush actually did commute one sentence of a murderer because it was not known if he raped his stepdaughter, which was a requirement to allow the death penalty in Texas.

Cameron Willingham does not appear to be some sort of upstanding citizen (he beat his pregnant wife causing a miscarriage), but Perry is using this element to cover up the fact that an innocent man MAY have been executed. This is equivalent to the Saturday night massacre.
