5. I worked, it was not a holiday
It's funny how, with each passing year in the workforce, holidays seem more and more a nuisance to me. The way business bunches up on either side of the day (the rush to get things paid/mailed/deposited before, and the crush of delayed business after) is increasingly irksome. Perhaps I'm too well-conditioned at seeing the bustle of daily life as "normal"...

6. I worked, but it's obvious a lot of my clients didn't, because the phone rang off
the hook all fricking day, to where my assistant was cursing it. A few of them ACTUALLY made appointments, too.

9. I worked but I did make more than usual
I didn't do any better salary-wise, still 2.25 an hour(I am a waitress). The bank holiday made it a good day for us though, especially breakfast. I made more than usual for a Monday. I can use it! It has been dead, dead, dead all summer long.

12. My bank was closed but the city trash man came. Fed holiday, I guess,
Columbus Day is getting less popular every year. Lots of action on my Native Unity blog.

19. Yes, because I'm Canadian, and it's Thanksgiving up here today.
As brainwashed commie socialists, we celebrate Thanksgiving on the wrong day, and we don't celebrate Columbus at all. :D
