21. They're generally media creations
We know how Limpballs and Hannity have created the reich-wing's false idea of President Obama, but we have to acknowledge the mainstream media's creation of the "Obama will be everything YOU want him to be" that was conjured up during the election by failing to ask him the hard questions.

55. It's really much nicer when there is accountability on the part of "progressives"
How very convenient to blame everything on the RW press. There is certainly an strong issue there, but you wreck your own credibiility when you use that..... how is it different from the RW saying the same thing about "the liberal press?"

Obama HAS gone back on some promises. He HASN'T done things he said he would do. Many people are disappointed in that.,

Why can't that be acknowledged?

68. I blame the RW press for what it does
which is the "He's not one of us," meme, and I blame the mainstream media for giving him a pass on issues important to us. It wasn't enough to have 'anybody but Bush', but that's how we allowed the media to frame the last election.

43. Stereotypes are developed based on preconceived, often incorrect generalizations
They are sometimes based on personal experiences which are distorted or misinterpreted then shared with others. These misconceptions come to be held as true by a larger group. Mass outlets like the media often propagate stereotypes. Stereotypes allow the holders to simplify and often dismiss the subject of the stereotype in order to make the holders' lives easier.

27. Really???
I believe it was 'close Guantanamo in one year' (which is being delayed), end torture....but not secret renditions (so we outsource torture), bring troops home from Iraq (not a lot of movement there yet).....and a number of others. These objections are certainly acceptable. Our expectations were mostly based on HIS WORDS, not merely our hopes and dreams. I remain hopeful, but will do it with my eyes open.

Look into my eyes, what do you see?
Cult of personality
I know your anger, I know your dreams
Ive been everything you want to be
Im the cult of personality
Like mussolini and kennedy
Im the cult of personality
Cult of personality
Cult of personality

Neon lights, a nobel prize
The mirror speaks, the reflection lies
You dont have to follow me
Only you can set me free
I sell the things you need to be
Im the smiling face on your t.v.
Im the cult of personality
I exploit you still you love me

I tell you one and one makes three
Im the cult of personality
Like joseph stalin and gandi
Im the cult of personality
Cult of personality
Cult of personality

Neon lights a nobel prize
A leader speaks, that leader dies
You dont have to follow me
Only you can set you free

You gave me fortune
You gave me fame
You me power in your gods name
Im every person you need to be
Im the cult of personality
Look into my eyes, what do you see?
Cult of personality
I know your anger, I know your dreams
Ive been everything you want to be

50. Actually the guy imagining Obama in slide 3 should
be saying, "AND HE HASN'T KEPT ANY OF THE PROMISES THAT I IMAGINED THAT HE MADE!" Those of us who were listening, reading his papers and attending his rallies know that that image of Obama having said any of that is utter BS and the one's who are complaining about it are usually the one's screaming that he hasn't kept ANY of his promises. I if were the man with the thought bubble it would read, "huh, I don't remember him promising any of that, unless that's supposed to be an image of Dennis Kucinich."

I remember him saying he would end the war in Iraq within 18 months if possible (he still has 10 months to go), but that he intended to be as careful getting out as Bush was careless getting in. He said he would do everything possible to provide affordable health care for anyone who wanted it. It was Edwards and Clinton who where complaining because he would not advocated for mandated universal health care. He said he was going to reevaluate and focus on Afghanistan because he thought that was the war we should have been fighting and Iraq was a mistake. He did say he would restore civil liberties that Bush had destroyed and protect the constitution. And this is pretty much what he has done.

Obama was never the flaming Liberal that those who complaim about him on this board claim he pretended to be. He did not compaign as a liberal nor has he legislated as a liberal If you're disappointed in him look in the mirror because you have only yourself to blame.

53. If I had imagined that Obama would appoint Bernanke/Geithner
And Summers to positions of power in his regime, I would not have voted for him. I'd have stayed home.

Dumbie that I am, when he said he would see to it that Washington would start working differently in a way that demonstrated change we could believe in, I stupidly thought that this would mean a break away fromt he type of banksters that Bush had embraced.

Wrong was I. And sorry to boot.

Two trillion bucks gone from Main Street to Wall Street.

you would have done and stay home. I don't blame it so much on Obama. We were told he had a crack Progressive Think Tank doing his transition. Remember all those KOOL KIDS pumping us up with e-mails sounding so Progressive from the "Center for American Progress?" Remember that?

Where are they now. I rarely get an e-mail from Podesta's group. So...I don't blame Obama...I'm just sorry that he was a "tool." Maybe he thought he had real help going in there after Bush. He didn't figure once he got in that the same folks who corrupted other Dem Presidents were there...with smiling faces and lobbyists at their back. But, this time...the lobbyists were Democrats who'd hid themselves in sheep's clothing.

62. Do people realize this isn't actually anti-Obama?
It makes a good point about BOTH sides of the political spectrum misreading what the President has actually said and projecting what they want to project.

67. Oh yes...but Perception is important. And, he did promise to do better than Bush/Cheney.
He promised "Change you can Believe In."

Wall Street was his boondoggle. He stepped in that one and has never looked back or down to realize the poop it was. And because of that the Right knew they could roll him. Now they are tying his hands on any efforts he might have wanted to make for change.
