1. It is, but that won't stop both Rs &Ds from holding up a shiny thing and
then saying "in a bipartisan way" over and over again until the public internalizes it inspite of recognizing their lying eyes.

2. The insurance industry got pissy
because the committee watered down the provisions requiring people to buy private insurance and that of course means smaller bonuses for the pricks at the top of the insurance companies.

3. According to some sources...
most of this reform (Baucus bill aside) has roots in the insurance industry (but I personally wouldn't know the difference).

In the early 70s, Nixon attempted mandated and subsidized health insurance, which Kennedy claimed was written by the insurance industry, and would result in a windfall for them.

So while smoke and mirros are trying to pin down Baucus's bill as the detrimental one, decades ago this entire movement would of been chastised for its give-away to the health insurance industry.

4. Is that the bill that would force us to buy unregulated private insurance and use the IRS to send us
to jail if we didn't? It wounds like it was written b the Parasitic Insurance companies.

5. Of course, the insurance companies could distance themselves intentionally.
And just be pretending. Who wants to pass a bill written by UNH?

6. The Baucus bill, as it currently exists, is not an acceptable solution
to health care reform. If you really want to know what's being proposed as compared to what we really need; i.e. single-payer, click here and here.
