The last time the Korean-American community had any notoriety at all was in the shooting death of Latasha Harlins, an unarmed African-American who was shot and killed by a Korean merchant in Los Angeles. The merchant was given probation for the killing, which is why, during the Rodney King riots, the Korean community was targeted for burning/looting. This is still an open wound for both communities and the last thing Bush and his photo-op handlers need to do is add salt to it.
