Congressional Democrats defend White House’s snub of Fox News
http://thehill.com/homenews/administration/63167-congressional-democrats-defend-white-houses-snub-of-fox-news

The growing rift between the Obama administration and the Fox News network is attracting criticism from Republicans, support from Democrats and a healthy number of legislators on both sides who want to stay out of it.

(snip)
The effort hasn’t been a total blackout; White House press secretary Robert Gibbs still calls on Fox News reporter Major Garrett at press briefings, but the Obama White House is clearly targeting the network that it believes is biased.

(snip)
In the House and Senate, Democrats who pledged to follow the administration’s near-boycott of Fox were hard to find, although many expressed support for Obama’s stance. And there is no evidence of any joint strategy by Democrats at either side of Pennsylvania Avenue to coordinate their efforts against Fox.

“The point is this, and it really needs to be made: Fox is not just another television network,” said Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.), a close Obama ally. “Fox has become the official/semi-official voice for the Republican Party, in opposition to the president. And I think calling them out is the only way to delegitimize them as political propaganda.”

Asked if he would follow Obama’s lead and boycott Fox, Durbin said, “I don’t know that I’d never go on Fox, but I will tell you that when I go on, it’s with a clear understanding that this is not a news network. This is the closest thing to the Republican Party’s official voice on television.”

1. So how many Democrats will show up on Fox helping to make it "credible"?
A lot I'm sure.

2. It takes a long time for Democrats to act. I used to write and beg Dems to not go on those networks
- to come up with their own venue.

3. Fox is a 24 hr infomercial for the republican party
It has paid pitchmen selling a lot of shit and stupid people are buying it. They sit around in their Snuggie blankets nodding in unison with the actors on the screen.

5. I don't know if it was wise idea for the
Administration To attack Faux. I don't disagree they are absolutely right but it may not be wise to pick a fight with the media. Listening to CNN Sunday it sounded like they were taking Faux's side, when the media gets attacked they tend to circle the wagons. Nixon did it, Rep. Jim Traficant did it, Rep. Bob Ney did it, etc. it usually turns out to be a big big mistake.

7. Disagree
You ignore a bully until they start interfering with your life and then you stand in their face and call them out. You don't yell and scream at them like they do. You get in their face and say "You said something, it is a lie, now show me the proof." Bullies back down because they have nothing behind them. These people havebeen running around too long telling their half truths, lies and anything they can think of to scare and fee aupon the fears of the people who listen and believe them. One has to call them out about their lies.

8. Has it ever worked in the past to pick a fight with
the media. Who was it said don't pick a fight with someone that buys ink by the barrel? Even CNN was coming to the Faux defence last Sunday.

9. Don't Know
I guess I would rather lose by putting the facts out there than let them win by default without challenging them.
