That was last November.
Will all this courting of Olympia Snowe (and the publicity around it), it's so obvious that they sold out the public option a long time ago, and their plan all along was to blame this imaginary demand that the healthcare reform bill be bipartisan.
Then they'll blame the progressives (who WE voted for by a healthy majority) for being as stubbornly idealistic as the screechers on the right. This has been playing out in slow motion since July, and we all know that if Obama wanted to fight for it, he would have done it by now. He talks a lot more about bipartisanship, Olympia Snowe, triggers and co-ops, and about "his friends on the left" stubbornly hanging onto a public option, than he does talking about the full public option most of us want to see.
Prove me wrong, Optimists. Please, I'm begging you---I DON'T WANT TO BE RIGHT!
