Welcome to the Potentially Deadly Alcohol-Marijuana Quiz! The purpose of this site is to test your knowledge about the relative harms of alcohol and marijuana. There are 10 questions in all.

to believe in science, so they are probably correct - in the slightest sense. Too bad Amerika does not embrace fact and science as it (we) should.

as a long time toker, I knew all that...except the addiction part...I question that fact.

I only missed one, and I STILL think marijuana is completely non-addictive. I distrust the data that suggest some low level of addiction for some people as simply too noisy to have confidence in. So I missed that one question on the quiz.

I smoke a lot of Marijuana... but some days I do not smoke at all and on those days I sometimes find myself feeling irritable... is that Addiction? I'm not so sure... One thing I can say for sure is marijuana is truly harmless. Time to end this stupid war on personal freedoms.

But it is RELATIVELY harmless compared to most things we consume.

IMO the benefits far outweigh the possible harm, not including prison of course which is a side effect of prohibition, not the substance.

I have some friends who still to this day sit on the couch and do nothing but get high... 10 years after High School...

Is it the marijuana or is it just pure lazyness? Does marijuana cause lazyness? Not for me... but some of my friends I could argue maybe it does attribute... but tend to think it is just something about them...


I'm an educated American who now works full time and I pay my taxes so give me my peace and legalize this nearly harmless substance that is one of the few Highs I can enjoy...

Locking yourself indoors to smoke is a result of prohibition, not a symptom of being high.

...when I don't smoke and miss it, what I'm missing is the stress relief that I mentally associate with marijuana use. Most of the time my SO and I smoke together in the evenings, and it's a little ritual we both enjoy not only for the gentle intoxication, but also-- maybe primarily-- for the stress relief that follows. I think a lot of that is actually indirect, more the result of the ritualized daily behavior than the direct result of being stoned, but certainly pot smoking is stress reducing in general anyway.

Mostly, if I don't smoke pot, I don't feel any adverse affects at all, but when I do the most common is stress related anxiety. If that's true for others, I suspect much of that "addiction" data misidentifies anticipation of stress as "marijuana withdrawal." I've smoked a LOT of pot in my 55 years and never experienced ANYTHING I would characterize as withdrawal.

Good post and it makes sense to me. I have to agree I've done many drugs and struggled with addiction and Marijuana is nothing like the crazy urges and pain I felt associated with meth. I'm thankful I got free from that terrible addiction. But marijuana has never made me feel that hell... more like heaven on earth...

Less than 5% on the crime thing, when lots and lots of violent crime is due to territorialism when it comes to the SALE of marijuana seems a little low to me. In fact, a LOT low. I grew up on the edge of South Central L.A., and this just doesn't seem possible at all from what I've seen with my own eyes.

Don't you think we would see significant drops in the crime rates in Soulth Central and other high crime areas? Or are gang bangers always going to have a reason to want to fight with rival gangs?
