Time to play devil's advocate: the case for Limbaugh buying the Rams
I'm sure that the vast majority of us are glad that the asshole got dropped from his bid to buy the St. Louis Rams. But here I attempt to use logic and explain the benefits of having Rush as an NFL owner.

1. Being an NFL owner is a full time 24/7 job

People think owning a professional sports franchise is easy - just a matter of opening the doors and letting people give you their money. It isn't. It's a 24/7 job. You have to be prepared to think on your feet at all hours of the day - usually about what's best for the team. If Limbaugh thinks he can be an owner while still attempting to do a 4 hour radio show everyday this would be a rude awakening for him.

2. It gets Limbaugh off the air.

Limbaugh would never have time to fill a 4 hour radio schedule while meeting the demands of being an NFL owner. No way. There's not enough oxycotin in the world to help El-Rushbo juggle both jobs.

3. Most importantly - The Rams are dead last.

Bringing a team out of last place is no easy feat. Ask the Lions, the '07 Dolphins, or any generation of Cubs fans. It requires trades, strategy and a decent opponent schedule. Trades of course means that you would get people who disagree with you - something that Limbaugh never has a problem with on his show.

If those points aren't convincing enough then everyone should agree that #2 is the best reason out of all of them.

2. Rush was only going to buy a minority share of the team.
He would have been a silent partner with no say over team operations. And being an NFL owner is not a full time job. Being an NFL general manager is a full time job.

3. Plus...
4. Rush would make for a most excellent tackling dummy

Rush could let each and every Ram run at him at full speed and smack him every which way from Sunday. No doubt the players would want to do this 24/7 (they could take shifts) with the result being from so much practice one helluva great team!

4. Didn't stop GW Bush from running for governor. There is ONE reason I would support his bid.
I'm a Cowboys fan, and it woud be nice to have some owner hated worse than ours.

Other than that, he would only be a financial investor, he wouldn't run the business, so he'd have time for his show. It's not like he spends time doing research or anything, anyway. He just gets the talking points they email him each morning.

5. Easy. I hate the Rams. Therefore I want them to have Limbaugh as their owner.
Case closed.

6. And speaking of "The Rams are dead..."
Not totally proud of it, but was sort of hoping Rush would follow in the footsteps of Carroll Rosenbloom, literally.

8. dittoheads out in force
Wherever a thread of this sort appears the dittoheads are out in force blaming everything except the phases of the moon for oxyrush's dis-invitation the blob itself has already, according to one item I've seen, blamed President Obama.
Just about the only possible good I can see coming out of this is that the blob might just get his mouth in high gear and eventually consume himself.
