Oh great. I've got a RW nutcase bomb builder in my neighborhood

This case is of particular interest to me because I have been plagued by mailbox vandalism "incidents" for many years in this area (southern Minneapolis suburbs). What a couple of whack jobs.


Excerpt from the Minneapolis Star Tribune:

"According to the complaint:

Robert Masters and his son bought one-pound boxes of a black power used for muzzle loading firearms on two separate occasions at a Lakeville store. Robert Masters, 48, told investigators that he bought the items to make the pipe bombs for the teens and said "that it would be a good educational tool for the kids to build pipe bombs."

Roberta Masters, 52, told investigators that she advised the teens to use the Internet to learn how to make the bombs, which she allowed to be detonated in her back yard. Other than telling them to be careful, she encouraged them to build the bombs because she thought it "was constructive," the complaint said.

Authorities said they searched the Masters' residence on July 1 and found 22 items, including white PVC pipe similar to that found at the crime scenes. They also found funnels with what appeared to be black gunpowder residue, and burned fireworks or combustibles in an outdoor fire pit.

The Masters also are accused of trying to thwart the investigation. According to the complaint, the Masters attempted to contact the teens' parents and "urge them not to talk to police, to get their stories straight and make amends with all the victims."

I worked under this dude for a quite a while... He was such a JERK! I laughed very hard when another previous employee of his showed me the news yesterday. After following the story, I heard he sent an email (finally) today to all employees. This email states the news papers and the headlines are blown out of proportion. He obviously is trying to save face, but I think it's a little late for that. I have no doubts since he is very high up in the job he is in, that he will face any repercussions professionally. With that aside HOW DUMB ARE THEY! If one of those kids, was hurt or even worse someone was killed by the bombs.. I think he would be singing a different tune.
He is a wealthy man..and very much a liar. I hope they throw the book at him AND his wife.
