As predicted Limbaugh attacks the NFL players union
Conservative radio personality Rush Limbaugh lashed out at NFL union leader DeMaurice Smith, Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson and the media a day after being dropped from a group trying to buy the St. Louis Rams. On his syndicated show Thursday, Limbaugh said he was approached by St. Louis Blues chairman Dave Checketts earlier this year about participating in a Rams bid. Checketts assured him his involvement as a minority investor had been vetted by the NFL, he said.
“I said to him at this meeting, ‘Are you aware of the firestorm?’ He said ‘We wouldn’t have approached you if we hadn’t taken care of that,”’ said Limbaugh, a conservative favorite who is reviled by many liberals.

During a 15-minute counterattack at the start of his show, Limbaugh said he believes he’s been made an example by a players’ union seeking leverage in talks over a new collective bargaining agreement. What happened to him was an illustration of “Obama’s America on full display,” the commentator said.

I thought personally the Owners would allow Rush to be an owner because he would use his show to help them attack the players union during the up coming labor dispute. Who knew that Rush was such a spineless suck up that even rejected Rush would still attack the players union for the NFL owners anyways... well the NFL owners knew I guess. So hand it to the NFL owners, they got exactly what they wanted, the RW radio's undieing support for the 2011 NFL lock out and not having the stink that is Rush Limbaugh anywhere near their league. You have to credit Limbaugh, 20+ years of political commentary and he has no clue how to use leverage to get what he wants. Ah Rush if you wanted in to the NFL owners club you should be attacking the owners and backing the players union right now. I mean you can't be that stupid about politics... oh wait you are that stupid. It's like the owners just treated Rush like a typical member of the Republican base. Oh trust us we really wanted to do this for you Rush but those darn liberal prevented us and like a sucker that is the Republican base Rush falls for it. Rush proves he's the perfect member of the Republican base. He'll buy anything the rich elite conservatives tell him, but I guess we knew that already.

1. Typical whiney republicon loser
You'd think that since Republicon chickenhawks are so practiced at being losers, they would by now have developed a certain grace.

But, noooo...

2. anyone else suspicious of this?
Could it be possible he has just become a silent partner? He is probably bringing $100M to the table or some other obscene amount . . . and how many can put up that kind of cash.

(I hate becoming a tin-foil conpiracist . . . but that does end in "racist" and we are talking el-pigboy here . . . )

limbaugh attempting to be a MINORITY owner.

He couldn't be a football player so he wants to buy them.

Checketts checked the MARKET and decided to cut his losses. Isn't that CAPITALISM AT WORK rush?

6. Checketts is racist too
Because if the guy had ANY common sense he wouldn't have tried to buy an NFL team with a known racist. He should have known better but went for it anways. Shame on him!

I make it a point to not hang out with racists. I mean let's face it - we meet people all the time, but if I find out someone is racist then I won't spend anymore time with them. Same thing if they are sexist or homophobic.

5. Yes Rush you're right, no one cared that you made (and still making) racist remarks
:grr:

Personally I don't think Checketts should get the team either since he was WILLING to go into a partnership with a racist. To me that says Checketts is racist too!

10. Oh please, Rush is a 'has been' and always will be from now on.
Edited on Thu Oct-15-09 04:14 PM by Rex
A racist 'has been' loser - gee can't imagine why the NFL didn't want him. :sarcasm:

Rush should be banned from anything to do with the public, just his handful of insane haters should be able to listen to him.

Rush = loser

14. I think I'd give more kudos to the NFL
if they weren't interested in destroying their labor union.
