not really, was he? So I'm not the scum of the earth for laughing at deadly highjinks. I'm just appropriately amused, IMO. At something that indeed, was very amusing. And I got a story on the National News! (you wouldn't know about that--and never mind!)

I consider myself an amateur science type and weather geek. That's where the comparison ends.

You may think they were acting, but exaggerated or not, that guy was way over the top. He was not without his endearing (from a not-so-personal distance) qualities, but it was quite dysfunctional.

Especially "reality" TV.

I just think it's cool that he got his kids interested in science.

And yes, I agree the guy made himself out to be a giant ass on the show. And so long as your amateur science geekyness doesn't include a hardcore belief in space aliens (a belief in a scientific possibility in such is OK) you are nothing like weirdo balloon hovercraft dad dude.

I was cruising the channels and happened upon it. There wasn't anything else on I wanted to watch and I've always enjoyed the "social experiment" aspect of Wife Swap - so I watched it.

Weird, huh? As soon as I heard this kid's name was Falcon I did a "Wait, what?" - and shortly after that someone mentioned that they were on Wife Swap. Sure enough...

I also wasn't surprised to find out THEIR kid (potentially) did something like that. They had no rules, no restrictions, no respect, no restraint and no manners. IIRC Falcon was the one that kept saying "FUCK" to the new mom while she was trying to introduce her rules.

but I don't think rewarding these publicity hounds with the attention they are so crazily seeking is a good idea
