5. I'm afraid that I don't have the transcript.
I'm sure one will turn up. The basic context is that Poppy was being interviewed (it's an audio interview) and he was decrying the lack of civility in today's political discourse and then a short time later he proceeds to say that Rachel Maddow and Keith Olbermann are "sick puppies" on the "cables" (not to be confused with the internet tubes.) :D This is of course a paraphrase, but he did call them "sick puppies". Ha.

7. i got it....finally
quote-While he said he does not believe in personal name-calling, he singled out MSNBC personalities Keith Olbermann and Rachel Maddow calling them "sick puppies."

"The way they treat my son and anyone who's opposed to their point of view is just horrible," Mr. Bush said.

"When our son was president they just hammered him mercilessly and I think obscenely a lot of the time and now it's moved to a new president," he added.

That seems to contradict his recent "Be Nice" attitude.../quote

However, he fails epically by not mentioning Faux news, or Rush in that interview...the door slides both ways poppy.

20. Cool. republicans understand they have to play dirty cause their policies...
are not palatable enough to put on a ballot without mongering war and fear and they know it. I understand all that 'You weren't nice to my son he's just a boy but he's a good boy!' rigmarole that's the kind of stuff old dark money, and new money too says to each other to enable themselves to do and say what they do and say; but for 41 to turn on his own dime and cast about with "Sick Puppies" as part of the public view then onto people that may not own America but are here to discuss it by inalienable right I can only *imagine* the language used round the dinner tables of such people, or behind closed doors

38. wasn't Poppy the one who stated
that if the American public knew what they had done, the people would tar and feather them (or something like that)? So, I wonder all the things the * family and friends have done against our interests?

11. People confuse "ironic" and "dramatic irony" all the time
One means words used to convey the opposite of their literal meaning; the other means what people think "irony" is.
