It sickens me to see Baucus described as a "moderate" Democrat
A moderate would be someone like John Kerry or most of the Democrats in the House. Baucus is no moderate.

Yet look at what the DSCC describes him as:

"Senator Baucus is known in the U.S. Senate as a moderate who works together with both sides of the aisle to do what's right for Montana and America."

All I can say is, BULLSHIT!

2. It's funny...
In most countries he would be dismissed as a market fundamentalist crackpot. Why the fuck does monetizing and commercializing health care make sense to anyone?

3. "...works together with both sides of the aisle to do what's right for Montana and America..."
Definition of what's right for Montana and America = insurance companies and corporate interests.

The people who voted for the SOB to put him in office sure don't get anything from him. He just takes a dump on them and then tells them it's what's best for them.

Please, Montana...vote this SOB out of office next time he runs!

5. He's the 53rd or 54th most liberal...
...or 47th or 46th most conservative senator.

That makes him a moderate by definition.

6. K-Street Max just does what he's told. It's foolish to try...
...to locate him on the political spectrum.

11. By US standards he's a "moderate".....
If this were any other western democracy Baucus would be nothing more than a hard right wing nut-case in league with fascists and other right wing extremists.

12. Kerry is a LIBERAL, calling him a moderate is a fucking insult.
Anyone who thinks that "most" of the Dems in the house is a moderate is stupid. Typical reasoning from those that twist definitions so as to make everyone to the right of Kucinich "center-right".

14. He was easily the most liberal of the serious candidates in 2004 or 2008

including Dean. That is why Kennedy supported him and worked very hard for him in Iowa. Far harder than he worker for any other primary candidate not named Kennedy.
